Peaches and Cream Foundation, Inc. was founded in 2004 and established as a 501©(3) organization in 2007 to address the need identified by founder Ella Butcher for a mentoring program for underserved and at-risk girls in disadvantaged, overlooked, and rural communities. The name of the organization stems from Ms. Butcher’s Georgian roots, with “peaches” and “cream” referencing a Biblical verse about God’s blessings (Job 29). The organization originated in a Philadelphia Housing Development Community Center with five dedicated young ladies as students. Since 2004, Peaches and Cream Foundation has developed into an innovative and impactful mentoring and internship program, drawing on Ms. Butcher’s experiences and forging strong community and college partnerships to bring positive encouragement and team-building activities to youth and college students
To give participants opportunities for self-expression, loving guidance, and academic success, the Peaches and Cream Foundation runs a mentoring, out-of-school time, and dance program. The out-of-school time program has extended its focus to address the youths’ demonstrated need to develop skills needed for career development. The organization’s curriculum teaches entrepreneurship, digital and computer skills, financial and reading and writing literacy, public speaking, and personal development. Ms. Butcher’s programs are dedicated to e-mentoring, extended internship programs for college students, mobile learning, and mental health advocacy.
Since 2012, the Peaches and Cream Foundation has also functioned as a community service clerical site for individuals enrolled in Pennsylvania’s welfare-to-work programs. Now known as the Employment and Training Program, it empowers participants to achieve self-sufficiency through Ella’s three E’s: Empowerment, Encouragement, and Education!
"ITS NOT HOW YOU START, ITS HOW YOU FINISH FROM STARTING."

At Peaches and Cream Foundation, we believe that every student has the potential to succeed. We strive to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment that empowers students to reach their full potential and achieve their goals.
We offer a variety of programs designed to meet the diverse needs and interests of our youth. From mentorship to college internships, our programs are crafted to equip youth with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed.
Our experienced and dedicated mentors are committed to helping students achieve their goals. They are passionate about teaching and are always looking for new and innovative ways to help youth learn.
Since our establishment in 2004, the Peaches and Cream Foundation has been dedicated to providing quality services and mentoring nationwide. We aimed to offer the same quality service to youth in inner-city areas as those in the suburbs. Our journey began with just five young girls in the housing projects of Philadelphia, PA. Since then, we have expanded to offer a wide range of programs worldwide. We are proud of our history and the positive impact we have made on the lives of our youth and their families.
Our team consists of experienced individuals, professionals, volunteers, and interns who are passionate about their fields and committed to providing the best possible education to our youth. We carefully select team members based on their expertise, mentoring experience, and dedication to their craft. Our team members are not only experts in their fields but also caring mentors who provide personalized guidance to our youth.
We have established partnerships with leading educational institutions, businesses, and organizations worldwide. These collaborations enable us to offer our youth unique opportunities, including virtual and in-person programs, internships, and research projects. We are proud to be part of a global network of individuals who share our commitment to quality services.
To win the fight against child poverty, communities must have the skills to succeed in a fair-minded workplace. To accomplish this, the organization has created programs to help working families and single mothers and to prepare our youth to become self-sufficient and successful within the global economy. We consistently provide technical and clerical support for rural communities. In addition to mobilizing resources, we are establishing exclusive programs to encourage economic development, financial freedom, and digital literacy. Our initiative supports goals centered around revitalizing communities. This resource mobilization approach is particularly important in rural areas, given their limited assets, current circumstances, and the growing need for access to programs that enhance their skills and abilities, which are crucial for their overall development in society.
Children who live in rural community areas often lack access to key amenities and critical programs or services that help families thrive. For example, while 3 percent of children in urban areas lack access to parks, libraries, or sidewalks, 6 percent of children in large rural areas and 8 percent in small rural areas do not have access to these amenities.
Peaches and Cream Foundation will continue to provide services that focus on rural areas. Rural America continues to be a source of opportunity for both the people who live there and for the nation as a whole. It possesses substantial natural resources, a diverse culture, and a strong family-oriented structure. Still, in too many rural/tribal places, families and children are falling behind. Our study describes ways to measure rural poverty and sets out a number of concerning developments.
This research underlines many of the critical programs lifting millions of rural children and families out of poverty. It truly emphasizes the need to do more. Rural children enter Kindergarten underprepared, are less likely to receive preventative medical & mental health care, and are more deprived of food. All of these things have dramatic and lasting impacts on life outcomes. At the same time, parents are less likely to have received postsecondary education and advanced skills training. This has limited their ability to compete for good-paying jobs in the ever-changing economy.
In rural, urban, or suburban communities, the road to the middle class is the same: education, healthcare, jobs. Our organization will promote the need of new policies that must adapt and respond to the distinct challenges facing rural and tribal communities. There are too many deprived children living in rural America that face similar educational, social & economic barriers as their urban counterparts. Many of these problems are weakened by the exclusion and limited access to support services commonly experienced in rural areas.
As the record states in the past, we have made extensive progress in ending child poverty. The organization aims to build upon this progress by building new partnerships, leveraging technology, and exploring new models of program delivery ensuring that all children have an opportunity to succeed.
PNCF prides itself on constantly expanding and redefining its focus to meet the demonstrated needs of our children and the community it serves.
